As a recent college grad, I’ve truly mastered the art of interviews; including interview attire. Keeping it classy yet memorable is key to standing out – in a good way. Although I will admit winter interviews are my least favorite (I prefer a cute pencil skirt with heels), winter meet ups can be fun as long as you’re warm & in your element.

I recently wore this outfit to an interview, keeping my attire within the neutral family & leaving my adorably awesome peacoat to do all the talking.  I think a pop of color is always necessary but interviews tend to be tricky, as a colorful bag or shoe can sometimes be viewed as tacky or over the top. So stick to a color that pops but isn’t too loud.

My greatest piece of advice would be to invest in a good pair of neutral shoes. I literally wear these ivory shoes to every interview. They’re comfortable, classy & guaranteed to go with practically anything! Also get yourself a fitted blazer – ‘fitted’ being the keyword. Do not wear an oversized boyfriend blazer, they may be cute when going out for drinks with friends but they'll look sloppy & frumpy to your potential employer. (I have this blazer in black)

Try to keep the makeup to a minimum. I know it's hard for my makeup junkies out there but stick to simplicity, creating a natural look. My go to interview makeup includes; powdered foundation, a dust of bronzer, a light shade of blush & mascara. Some days I will throw in some eyeshadow but keeping it light, using muted colors. My go to lips include a soft pink lipstick with a light layer of matching gloss.

I hope this post helped some of my fellow job seekers!  Feel free to leave a comment below, sharing whatever interview tips you think are essential to landing that dream job.
